The first boot to be made was the 8 hole cherry red work boot which was named the 1460 due to the fact it was first produced on the 1^st of the 4^th month in 1960.

This boot has become a classic and has played a major part in the subcultures from the 60’s to the present day.

In the 60’s,70’s and 80’s we saw the Ska ,Mod, Punk, Skinheads and Psychobilly sub cultures. In the 90’s and more recently we have seen Grunge and Goth. The Doc Marten boots have been an essential fashion item over these years and the good news is that they are finding new fans in the 21^st century.
